Yangarra Estate 2013 Syrah (Shiraz)
“This wine has a heady illusion of sweetness and confection, and after that lovely slender syrup establishes itself, the oozes of prune and black-berry emerge, and entwine with the dark chicory and juniper tannins and the faintest whiff of harness leather. All over the primary fruit and vegetation, it begins to prickle like summer, with smells of rain on hot sunbaked sandstone and rusty galvo, and explosives in the quarry.” - Peter Fraser, Winemaker

Think of a perfectly baked homemade blueberry pie with sweet and savory filling and golden caramelized crust. This Aussie Shiraz is rich and deep in colour, boasts a long finish and a dark jammy brambleberry center. It is luscious and intense without being over the top. Baking spice, brown butter and a plush texture make this a scrumptious sipper. Great value wine for any wine drinker. The perfect wine with a juicy homemade lamb burger topped with feta cheese and arugula.
Aged 22 months in barrel and closed under screw cap this will be a long living wine that can be drank this evening or cellared for another 5-7 years by the patient wine drinker.
