Thörle Saulheimer Spätburgunder Kalkstein 2015

Their Saulheimer Spätburgunder Kalkstein is a pleasant red wine. It is made from hand-harvested Pinot Noir grapes. These grapes come from some 40 year old vines which are planted on a calcareous soil. After fermentation, the wine is aged ten months in old oak barrels. By using this dose of oak bright red colored wine has been a particularly refined flavor. This intense and complex smells of ripe red and black fruit. And has beautiful aromas of coffee, cocoa, cedar and laurel. The powerful taste is pretty full and round, rich fruit and subtle nuances of spice. The frivolous aftertaste remains long and pleasant. A gourmet red wine that can be served with many dishes. As with blanched Brussels sprouts with butter, spinach pie with ricotta, red cabbage with apple or white rice with rendang. And classic course a perfect match with game birds like pheasant or partridge.
