Tantalus Vineyards 2014 Riesling

The 2014 Riesling continues our tradition of making wines that naturally translate the terroir of our historic vineyard in South East Kelowna. The fruit was hand-picked from our vineyard blocks dating back to the 1970’s and fermented in separate batches, using a selection of yeasts. Final blending took place just prior to bottling. A clear and luminous shade of yellow. This wine has a classic Tantalus Riesling nose of fresh lemon zest and orange oil with top notes of wild flowers and an undercurrent of guava and green pineapple. On the palate the wine is intense with granny smith and gala apples, peach skin and pineapple. Crunchy, juicy acidity pulls the finish into laser focus. This wine’s intensity and balance will allow it to live for a long time. Cellar for up to 10 years.

This Riesling came from a vintage that was a dryer which means the flavors in the grape are more concentrated. This dry style Riesling has minerality and mouthwatering acidity that is balanced with flavors of lemon, apple and stone fruit. This wine would be fantastic with roast pork or other fattier style dishes.
