Tantalus 2012 Old Vines Riesling

Morning sunshine in a glass – this wine is all about purity and balance. The nose invites with lime curd and mandarin marmalade lifted by hints of white flowers and wet stones. The palate is focused and textural. Ripe fresh squeezed lemon, juicy pink grapefruit pith complimented by incredible minerality. This wine has great length and complexity and although delicious now, its long cellaring capability will richly reward those who wait. By anyone’s standards, 2012 was a very warm vintage – the complete opposite of 2011. An exceptionally warm growing season calls for especially careful vine management to insure the fruit retains its flavour intensity and the crisp acidity Tantalus Rieslings are known for. Our goal is to farm naturally and in unison with the vineyard conditions. As a result, Tantalus wines proudly display all the special nuances of any given growing season.
