Charles Baker Picone 2013 Riesling

This vineyard's hallmarks are all on full display here with floral notes on the nose, a savoury tone that runs through the core and is all fleshed out by white stone fruit and citrus. The wild yeasts that kicked off the ferment and ensuing hang-time on the lees over the winter before the spring bottling yielded complex fruit and length. With only 10% alcohol, the wine is delicate, refreshing and balanced. The modest sweetness is tempered by a savage acidity that cracks a whip. The finish is long, dry, fruit filled and makes you leap over the bar for more.
