Paloma Vineyard 2010 Merlot

This wine has a consistent thread of complex aromas of black berry fruits, black stone fruits, chocolate, tobacco, spice and floral notes with a mineral overtone. On the palate the wine has a big silky mouth feel, well balanced, with flavors of berries, fruit, cocoa, cassis, and spice, and a long spicy finish.

Paloma Vineyards sits atop Spring Mountain which is well known for its poor Volcanic soils but along this 20 acre plot is small amounts of clay. Merlot loves clay as it has higher water retention which can be vital in these mountain side vineyards.  There is significant amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon in this glorious Merlot adding firm tannin and longevity complimented by dark fruit and a fine herbaceousness. Paloma Merlot is a big mouthful of classic Napa Mountain Merlot. Cocoa, dark plum and blackberry abound on full bodied and assertive palate.

Drink now through 2022.
