Wine Basics — Grape Varietals 101: Grenache (aka: Garnacha)
Celebrate International Grenache Day on the 3rd Friday in September
Here's a great bottle of wine that won't break the bank. Mostly Grenache, this is soft and supple and reminiscent of Pinot Noir, but with a little extra. The fruit and tannins are well-integrated and the finish is smooth.
This is what I would call a crowd-pleaser.
This is a Luscious and elegant wine! Lots of dark cherry, spice and roasted nut on the nose, with a hint of minerality. On the palate I get black cherry, wet stone, white pepper, blackberry, a hint of clove and vanilla. The tannins are silky and fine and well integrated with a gorgeous balance of bright acid and fruit that gives it a pretty long finish and will enable this wine to lay down for a few years! A fantastic pairing for grilled pork chops! Delicious and easy drinking!!
