What is Cabernet Sauvignon? Wine Varietal Facts – From Flavour to Grape Variety
Celebrate National Cabernet Day With Everything You Need to Know About Cabernet
Mount Veeder tends to produce fruit with very expressive dark berry characteristics. While Howell Mountain wines more often than not produce wines that speak to the scents of the mountain side. This is a classic Howell Mountain Cabernet with very obvious notes of sage, under brush, pencil shavings and cedar. It is expressive Cabernet Sauvignon in high definition. So expressive that on the nose it could easily be confused with a very high quality Bordeaux but one sip will rectify that thought. The palate is very deep offering a black forest cake and kirsch notes with firm and integrated tannins. It is rich and a big, bold wine drinking experience that will only become more integrated and more complex with some time in the cellar.
Drink now through 2025.
Wow! This wine is outstanding! Rich, smooth, intense, finessed, deep, inky, vibrant, silky... so many great things going on in this wine. Violet aroma with lots of blue fruit (typical of mountain wines). It's very well-rated with the critics and I can see why - it absolutely deserves the acclamations.
