Gramercy Cellars 2010 Mourvèdre (Monastrell)

This lovely wine has a sweet, grapey nose that rolls into a mouthful of flower and juicy red-fruit flavours. The acidity is balanced, and there’s a blood orange flavour and a hint of mineral. - Paul Gregutt, Wine Enthusiast

Strong tannin aromas that then blend into a wonderful black jam, then a sour cherry, leather and cinnamon.  Interesting mix of flavours - crisp dark berry, sour cherry or cranberry, smokey leather.  A very nice spicy finish with a hint of cinnamon.  We opened it about 2 hours before dinner and it definitely softened the tannin.

We enjoyed this with Savory Ricotta & Chicken Turnovers (allyouneedischeese.com), it paired wonderfully.
