Featherstone Estate Winery Black Sheep 2016 Riesling VQA

This wine is named after the sheep that helped to make it. The sheep were used in the vineyard to eat away the grape leaves that shaded the Riesling grape clusters. Removing these leaves exposes the grapes to sunlight, enhancing their ripeness and quality. The result is an exceptional wine that is crisp and refreshing with a ripe, Granny Smith apple and peach character. It is delicious accompaniment for chicken, seafood and pasta dishes with a little cream sauce as well as medium cheeses.
