Dunn Vineyards 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon

“The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain takes things to another level, as hard as it may seem to believe. This was another difficult vintage for Dunn. Yields were down a full 50%. In exchange, nature rewarded Dunn with the fruit to make an epic wine that could very well turn out to be a modern-day legend. The 2008 is a huge, towering wine packed with dark fruit, licorice, tar, asphalt and licorice. Layers of perfume are woven throughout this majestic effort. The 2008 should only be purchased by the very patient, but it is a legendary wine in the making. Anticipated maturity: 2028-2043. 96 points.”

An epic wine experience! It's wines like this that make consumers understand that there truly is a difference in wines and sometimes price does matter.

A deep-seated wine experience. If you sit quietly enough and pay attention you can hear the howls, billows and wisdom that come from deep within this experience.  Some 7 years' later the wine is an infant and is sunk down in a deep, dark and dense abyss. Barely aged a wink. It is brooding, broad and far too excitable.

Hold off on this bad boy for another 5-7 years.  Then and only then will  you here the true story of what is Dunn Vineyards 2008 Howell Mountain Cabernet. Then and only then will the wine be tame enough and patient enough to really reveal who it is.  Which will be a wine with more personality, more story and more dimension than most.
