Domaine Terra Vecchia IGP Rosé
A delightful wine with a clean, yet appetizing character. The ripe red fruit (strawberry, raspberry) comes through clearly on the palate and gives way to a fresh, long-lingering finish. Raspberry pink with a lovely sheen. An explosion of red berries with tangy, citrus notes, nicely set off by delicate aromas of fine spices. A delightful wine with a clean, yet appetizing character. The ripe red fruit (strawberry, raspberry) comes through clearly on the palate and gives way to a fresh, long-lingering finish. The grapefruit and candied lemon notes add nice length. Serving temperature: 10-12°C . The perfect wine for relaxed get-togethers. It can be enjoyed from the aperitif through to the end of the meal. Ideal with Mediterranean cuisine, seafood and fresh, or slightly matured, cheeses. Niellucciu Grape Variety: More commonly grown in the limestone soil of northern Corsica - primarily in the Patrimonio appellation, Niellucciu is believed to be a sibling of Tuscany’s Sangiovese grape, but any similarity is in the DNA, rather than in character.

I was lucky enough to try a sample of this vintage before it was even available for sale in Alberta.
So much salinity on the nose... like a lot! I loved the aroma - river rocks and crushed oyster shells. The palate was mineral and savoury with pomegranate and under ripe strawberries. The tiniest bit of ruby red grapefruit on the back palate. Medium body and good acidity, but not too racy. Mineral and light red fruit right through to a lengthy finish. A really nice wine with enough complexity to make it interesting but not so much that you couldn't just mindlessly sip this on a sunny day.
