Wine Basics — Grape Varietals 301: Riesling
So this is my new favourite vineyard in the Okanagan. I had the great privilege of visiting this winery in October last year and tasting through their offerings, and will tell you that any wine from Culmina you find - buy it! Drink it! and Love it!! Don Triggs and Pascal Madevon are doing everything right - from selecting the grapes best suited to the land, to their sustainable wine making practices!
This Riesling is the quintessential example of how good Canadian wine can actually be - crisp, fresh and vibrant, with bright citrus and juicy stone fruit, and a light minerality on the finish that cleanses the palate. I would love to see what this wine tastes like with some age on it - but not sure I can leave it alone long enough!!
