Coriole 2016 Montepulciano
What a fantastic variety. The appeal starts with the deep, ruby colour and then comes the generous nose. Rich with muddled mulberry, cherry ripe, old English toffee, worn leather and shavings of mahogany. The intense hue and aromatic nose lead to the expectation of a heavy red, but instead you’re met with bright, juicy acidity, just-ripe red fruits and delicate and earthy tannins. Montepulciano offers the wonderful savoury structure of a good Sangiovese with more abundant fruit.
