Corcelettes Estate Winery 2015 Petit Verdot

This is an incredibly special wine to us, as you’ll discover on the rear label. If you’re not familiar with Petit Verdot as a varietal, it is most commonly used in Meritage/Bordeaux Blends (typically in smallest percentage) to add intensity to the aroma of the blend, as well as structure. It is rare as a single varietal in most parts of the world because it requires a long, hot season with plenty of sun and not all vintages offer these conditions. 2015 was a sensational year for us, both personally and in the vineyard, and this wine is quite representative of the unforgettable vintage- it offered perfect conditions to create a Petit Verdot to showcase on its own (as well as in our Meritage blend).
