Chateau Pessan 2010 Bordeaux

Bordeaux has always been a style of wine that benefitted from long cellar aging and so this vintage is already cellared. In composition the wine is 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon which results in a wine that is at once both concentrated and dense, but also smooth and refined with tannins that have softened enough already to enjoy a glass of this both on its own as well as with food. The wine has nice blackcurrant and coffee bean notes along with smoke and black pepper that will make it a great pairing with lamb, steak and hard cheese as well, as game birds such as pheasant.
