Château de la Gardine 2012 Grenache blend

Extremely bright, deep purple with a violet rim. A perfectly clean nose with an explosion of aromas: Black fruit, exotic spices, roasted coffee and hints of cocoa. One can also distinguish some liquorice and violet flower that combine perfectly well. This wine is very generous. The tannins are there, silky and ample, ready for the palate but also promising a great future.

Easily on of the most recognizable wine regions, “New Castle of the Pope” allows up to 13 different grape varieties in the blend with Grenache leading the pack. The region is steeped in tradition with hand- picked grapes from vines as old as 60 years.  Rich, exotic, luscious and silky are typical descriptors and the ageing potential is at least a decade - but you may not be able to wait that long!
