Wine Basics — Grape Varietals 101: Zinfandel (aka: Primitivo)
Wine Basics — Grape Varietals 101: Syrah (aka: Shiraz)
I retried this fun wine last week and was very happy with it. A Zinfandel from Oz is not something you get to try often and this surprised us all.
The wine is dark and brooding with bold tannins, with flavors of leather, cherry and Asian spice. The telltale blueberry aromas of Zin are not as present as you get from CA, but the overall result is a wine that is well-made and tasty as well as reasonably priced.
