Ballard Lane 2013 Pinot Noir

Intense red currants and strawberry shortcake coupled with portabella mushroom dominate the nose, while delicate fruits and spices line the long palate. This Pinot Noir is mid-weight with long tannins and bright acidity that draws the abundance of fruit through the palate. The fruit was harvested at night. It underwent a 24-hour pre- fermentation maceration to enhance the extraction of soft tannins and bright red fruits. Fermentation took 7-10 days, after which the wine underwent malolactic fermentation and remained on a combination French and American oak for approximately 9 months.

This wine was ok. It had a nice and bright acidity, but the fruit was very delicate and the wine kind of forgetable. A good sipping wine.
