Wine Basics — Grape Varietals 101: Grenache (aka: Garnacha)
Celebrate International Grenache Day on the 3rd Friday in September
I was a little nervous about this wine because I had never tried a Grenache before. I thought it might be too bold for me, but it was perfect. Very smooth and fresh with strong fruit aromas and flavours. I paired it with a rather heavy dish, vegetarian meat chili. It definitely stood up to the test.
The story of the Cirillo family is really cool too. I love a cool story to pair with my wine. It makes it taste that much better.
