Aria nominated in 2014 for best Blues and Roots Album for his debut album ‘Misdiagnosed’, Harry Hookey is a unique blend of alternative roots & folk, punctuated by heavier punk and rock influences - somewhere between James Taylor and Nirvana. Inspired by Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Steve Earl and Leonard Cohen this Melbourne bred singer/songwriter is perfect for a Gourmet Weekend wine-down. He cut his teeth as a solo performer in the noble art of busking on Melbourne streets over the past 5 years as well as winning competitions with punk rock band, The Bystanders and showcasing his music at the Americana festival in Nashville TN. He has more recently opened on a national Kasey Chambers & Shane Nicholson tour, and performed with artists as diverse as Tim Rogers, Mick Thomas, Doc Neeson and Ash Grunwald. His live reputation is building steadily as he makes his way around the country from gig to gig, cutting his chops at festivals and intimate venues alike. Stop Press: 2015 Nominee for 6th Annual Rolling Stone Magazine Awards 'Best New Talent'.
