At Staete Landt we produce wine for the top end of the market, which is the segment of exclusive and (super) premium wines. With our team of passionate wine people we are highly committed to our land, our soils, our vines and our wines. We look after our vines and resources with great dedication in order to make wines that truly represent our unique terroir on the ‘Golden Mile’.

The ‘Golden Mile’ is the name given to a special strip of land in Marlborough located on the old riverbed soils in the sub region of Rapaura. This relatively small area of land has the most optimum wine growing conditions due to its unique microclimate. Some of the oldest and most famous Marlborough vineyards are planted in this area.

Staete Landt wines are 100% Estate grown, handcrafted from the 21 hectare (52 acres) Estate. We do not source fruit from other vineyards, nor do we sell grapes to other vineyards.

We believe the best wines are wines with personality, texture, complexity and great balance. This is what we aim to achieve in our vineyard and in our wines. Building a well respected brand for premium wine is a long term commitment that involves:

- high integrity
- making consistently great wines and
- making long-term commitments towards precious resources such as the use of land, vines and water.

The intense ‘Rapaura’ flavours are nurtured in the winery, as we practice minimal winemakers intervention. This means we use the very best of traditional winemaking methods with the latest technology and our own passion for. The results are honest character wines with an old world texture and elegance.

Staete Landt’s first vintage was in 2000, and currently we produce a range of wines including: Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Syrah, Viognier, Riesling Dry and Riesling Auslese.
