The Smelly Cheese Club was born out of a desire to spread and share the Smelly Cheese Shop's years of experience and ability to source and showcase cheeses from around the globe.Behind the scenes are a couple of cheese fanatics who come to us via France and Italy, two of the world's greatest cheese producing nations.
Valerie was born and bred in Normandie - the home of Camembert! It was a case of two cultures colliding when she arrived in Australia in the early 1990's and this became the motivation to bring together the best of both worlds. Now selecting and importing her favourite products to Australia, as well as judging in Cheese shows around the country the circle is complete.
Tania is from an Italian background and a chef by trade. She has worked with a myriad of good names including Cath Kerry and Pip Forrester.Her passion for cheese saw her jump at the chance at managing the Smelly Cheese Shop in the Adelaide Central Market. We think the biggest attraction to the position was being forced to taste cheese everyday!
Together, they travelled to Europe to discover an endless source of cheese inspiration!
