What's with the name? I originally wanted to christen these wines in my name, John Howard, ... and then my good friends accused me of being yet another "[profanity withheld] megalomaniac". Regrettably, the name stuck.
And so, I now produce wines called Megolomaniac. Meant to be shared with friends of equivalent, or ever greater egos. Pairs extremely well with delusional fantasies of wealth, power, and occassionally omnipotence.
This winery is a retirement project. I run the business out of passion. Simply put, my mission is to deliver quality above all else.
Each Megolomaniac wine is a unique reflection of the land, the weather, and the people who helped bring it all to reality.
Our winemaking team, lead by the hugely talented Sue-Ann Staff, nurtures the promise of each harvest using state of the art equipment and new French oak imported directly from Francois Freres in Bordeaux, France.
All in all, we make wines of distinction, without compromise.
