During his career as an actor, Kurt Russell, had the opportunity to taste and learn about wines from all over the world. Over the years, his appreciation and love forthe art of winemaking and farming grew to become a passion he wanted to pursue personally. While filming the Quinten Tarantino movie "Death Proof" in the Santa Ynez Valley and Sta. Rita Hills, Kurt felt the wines from the area rivaled any that he had from various parts of the globe - especially the Pinot Noirs.

As fate would have it, Kurt was introduced by a mutual friend and wine producer, Greg Gorman, to grape growers and winemakers Peter and Rebecca Work of Ampelos Cellars. When he realized neither of them knew much of his acting career and questioned him about his seriousness in being involved in all aspects of the winemaking process he knew he had found the place he wanted his wines to be born.
Through the chilly mornings of harvest, to the fast pace of the bottling line, from the detailed work of pruning each vine, to the design and wording of his labels –"Gogi" wines are about combining good people - caring about each and every aspect of the process and in return making something that is without question… memorable and remarkable!
