Your New Year’s Eve party will be a little easier with these original Champagne Punch recipes that you can make ahead of time.

Even though we’ve called them all “Champagne Punch” you don’t have to use true Champagne. Any sparkling wine will do the trick and there are plenty that are less expensive that Champagne. We’ve made recommendations for each Punch Recipe, but if you have a favourite sparkling wine, go ahead and use it.

Pay attention to the yield of each recipe and adjust according to the number of people at your NYE party. You may have to double the recipe or cut it in half depending on how many people you’ve invited. Remember that every good host serves their guests responsibly. Plan for one standard beverage per hour per person and ensure your guests have a safe way home.

Make Your Champagne Punch Sweeter or Drier by Choosing the Right Bubbles!

Some of the recipes require a little more or a little less sweetness depending on the other ingredients, so choosing a certain style of sparkling wine will make a difference. For example, if you’re looking for a little more sweetness to a recipe, use an “Extra Dry” Prosecco (which is actually sweeter than Brut Prosecco) or you can always add Sprite instead of Soda water. If you want to reduce the sweetness in your punch, make sure you use a Brut Champagne or Brut Sparkling wine made in the Traditional Method. These tend to come across as drier than most Proseccos and will compliment the other punch ingredients.
